Carefully turn the trash can body upside down. Insert each of the four wheels into the designated slots on the bottom of the can until they click securely into place. Ensure all wheels are firmly attached for stability and mobility.

- Install Batteries (if not using AC Adapter):
Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lid. Open the compartment and insert four (4) D-size alkaline batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Alternatively, an optional AC adapter (sold separately) can be used for continuous power without batteries. Connect the AC adapter to the designated port on the lid and plug it into a wall outlet.

- Install AbsorbX Odor Filter:
Locate the filter compartment inside the lid. Insert the AbsorbX carbon odor filter into the designated slot. Ensure it is seated correctly to maximize odor absorption.

- Place Trash Bag:
Lift the retainer ring from the trash can body. Place a 13-gallon trash bag into the can, wrapping the top edge of the bag over the retainer ring. Lower the retainer ring back into the can, securing the trash bag in place.

Manual Open/Close Buttons
For extended opening or manual control, use the "OPEN" and "CLOSE" buttons located on the lid. Press "OPEN" to keep the lid open indefinitely. Press "CLOSE" to close the lid. The motion sensor will reactivate after the lid is manually closed.
Locking Lid Feature
This model includes a locking lid feature to prevent accidental opening, especially useful in households with pets or small children. Consult the user manual for specific instructions on engaging and disengaging the lid lock mechanism.
