The VOLTCRAFT VC585 requires three (3) AAA batteries for operation. To install or replace batteries:

4.4 Other Measurement Functions

• ความต้านทาน (Ω): Turn the rotary switch to the Ω position. Connect test leads to the component.

This means the 400A range cannot be manually selected for the MAX function if the initial current is below the higher ranges.
