3. Open the GENBOLT CAM app and create an account or log in.

2.2 WiFi Camera Connection

1. In the GENBOLT CAM app, navigate to "Add Camera" > "WiFi Camera".
2. Allow the app to enable phone location and Bluetooth. (For iPhone users, you may need to explicitly allow new Bluetooth connections).
3. Select "Add to" and then choose your 2.4GHz WiFi network. Enter the WiFi password.
4. Confirm the settings to configure wireless and add the device.

2.3 Troubleshooting Connection Failures

If the connection step fails:

1. Ensure the camera has completed its 10-second self-checking after power-on.
2. Press and hold the RESET button on the camera for approximately 10 seconds. This will reset the camera to its default settings.
3. In the phone app, delete the camera entry if it was partially added. To delete, swipe left on the camera entry in the app.
4. Attempt the connection process again from step 2.2.

2.4 AP Mode Setup (Direct Connection)

AP Mode allows your mobile phone to connect directly to the camera's hotspot (like a WiFi signal) to view real-time video and records on the MicroSD card without an internet connection. The effective range is approximately 10 meters.

Note: If using AP mode, you must turn off the "Restart timer" feature. The camera automatically restarts once a week for stable performance. If no network is connected and the timer is active, the camera may not reset to the correct time, affecting video timestamps.

However, if a 2.4GHz-only camera is connected to a 5GHz network (e.g., via a LAN cable to a 5GHz router) and the LAN cable is unplugged, the camera will go offline.

Q: I changed my router and now cannot connect the camera. What should I do?

A: Make sure the new router's network name (SSID) and password are exactly the same as your old router's. The camera should then connect automatically.
